the challenge

Lenovo needed a simpler wat to manage 5 agencies executing MDF-funded campaigns for 50–200 partners, while improving the accountability and ROI tracking that the previous program failed to deliver.

Timeline: sixty days.

My team was already at capacity; we were launching 4 other web portals at the same time. I needed to manage this directly with the account manager and one developer who actually had bandwidth.

The solution

We adopted a templated approach leveraging the UX and UI of an existing portal and built a bilingual client specific version that:

  • Matches channel partners with pre-approved campaigns

  • Routes requests to specialized agencies

  • Gives client stakeholders real-time dashboard visibility into portal activity

What We Built

WEEK 1: Strategy & DESIGN

We started with a 60-minute kickoff. Creative lead (me), and the account managers, reviewing brand guidelines, identifying functionality needs, client hopes and dreams; deciding together what could be prioritized for a quick launch in 8 weeks.

I drafted the brief, prelim UI mockups, and had two design concepts for the client to choose from created in 1 week.

week 2: Creation & Iteration

AI-powered tools handled schedules, developer spec documents, preliminary copy and Asana workbacks. Designers focused on art direction, ensuring brand consistency and UX so that our users would have a seamless adoption of the new tool and developers were prepped for a smooth handoff.

week 3: Refinement & Client sign off

Final polish, partner approvals, and dev kickoff. I met with the developer and provided a full brief and spec doc based on the prior weeks decisions. The developer had no questions, she was able to start immediately.

week 4 - 8: Development + Ship

The portal was built on WordPress in 2 weeks. Final QA and polish spanned accross 1 week before the portal shipped. We created a how-to video and launch emails as well to get partners onboarded and acquainted with the new site. Early adoption was immediate and we are expanding the portal to more users and markets as we speak.

Utilized an existing porudct as a template and my AI powered workflow to ship a custom portal with the support of one developer.

The portal was a big success and is currently expanding to 4 additonal markets. I’m working on it now.

This project was a perfect example of how strategy enables speed. Instead of spinning our wheels coming up with a new product, we looked at what we already have that is working and adapted it for the client.

I cut time on design and development work by using AI as an assistant to draft documents and prototypes.

I worked with just one developer, who delivered on time with minimal supervision. Our collaboration was seamless.
